2018: Reading and Analysing Indo-Persian Documents
In August 2018, the Institute of Iranian Studies in cooperation with Prof. Chander Shekhar (Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture, Tashkent) held a summer school on “Reading and Analysing Indo-Persian Documents”. The participants were a highly international group of postgraduates and postdocs. Besides the two organizers, Dr. Hamidreza Ghelichkhani (Teheran) and Dr. Saqib Baburi (London) gave the lectures.
The aim of the summer school was to instruct students with a good knowledge of Persian in ways of reading Indo-Persian documents, introduce them to deciphering Shekaste, and encourage them to work on documents on their own. We are planning a second summer school on the same topic in summer 2019 in India.
