Kick-off for the practical project on resilience and efficiency in the retail grocery sector
On April 16, 2025, the starting signal was given in Bremen for this year's practical project in the Master's program in Management. The project is conducted as part of the Retail Logistics & Innovation Lab, which connects researchers from several universities – including the University of Göttingen, the Technical University of Darmstadt, the Politecnico di Milano, as well as the University of Bremen – with corporate partners such as REWE GmbH.
The scientific supervision of the practical project is carried out by the Lab team led by Prof. Dr. Matthias Klumpp (Head, University of Bremen), Prof. Dr. Maik Hammerschmidt (Co-Lead, University of Göttingen), and Katharina Berendes (Research Associate, University of Göttingen). In addition to the University of Göttingen, participating students also come from the University of Bremen – benefiting from intensive exchange formats and interdisciplinary perspectives within this cross-university project.
At the heart of the project is the analysis of efficiency and resilience strategies in the supply chains of the retail grocery sector. The aim is to develop innovative solutions together with corporate partners that enable both resilient supply and efficient process management.
The kick-off event provided space for initial content-related impulses, interdisciplinary exchange, and the joint definition of goals for the coming months.
