WoodSense
Development and implementation of formaldehyde online-sensor systems in wood-based panel processing
WoodSens aims to develop a laboratory measurement system and a real-time (online) formaldehyde emission measurement system for industrial wood-based panel production. The laboratory measurement system should be able to supplement or even replace currently used methods for emission monitoring. With the online sensor system it should be possible to measure formaldehyde emissions of wood materials already in the manufacturing process and to integrate them into the statistical process control. Furthermore, a process model based on multivariate regressions will be developed. Another focus will be research into the influence of raw material mixtures on formaldehyde emissions and the mechanical properties of the subsequent products.
