The Plasticity of Neuronal Circuits and the Control of Adaptive Behavior
Brains are plastic. Learning and memory formation, ever-changing sensations, ageing and internal states influence an animal's (and human's) nervous system and behaviour.
Our laboratory analyses how neurons, neuronal circuits and plastic synaptic connections between neurons organize and control adaptive behavior.
We investigate
- neuronal circuits and synaptic plasticity underlying learning and memory formation.
- how sensory information is processed by neuronal circuits, and how these adapt to the experience of sensory stimuli.
- the influence of metabolic factors on behavioral responsiveness to sensory stimuli and on learning.
