Dr. Lorella Ventura

Lorella Ventura has a degree in Philosophy, a second degree in Historic-Religious Studies (Islamic Studies), and a PhD in Islamic Civilization at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. She has been an "expert" (cultore della materia) of Practical Philosophy (2009-2016) and History of the Islamic Countries (2015-2019) at the Sapienza University of Rome. Since 2021 she is member of the International Scholarly Network "Philosophy in the Modern Islamic World" (DFG).
Her publications include the monographs Hegel in the Arab world. Modernity, Colonialism, and Freedom (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018) and Hegel and Islam (Diogene, 2013 – in Italian).
