RTG 1723 - Globalization and Development
Welcome
The Research Training Group (RTG) 1723 is a cooperative research and PhD training group of the Leibniz Universität Hannover and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Under the roof of the RTG twelve professors of the cooperating universities collaborate on research and PhD training in the field of globalization and development economics. The RTG started in April 2012 with training 19 PhD students as its first cohort. The second cohort of 22 PhD students started in April 2015 and the third cohort of 14 PhD students in April 2018.
The activities of the RTG are complemented by the clusters in development economics of both institutions. Additional external partners include the Research Centre "Poverty, Equality and Growth in Developing Countries" and the DFG long-term project "Poverty Dynamics and Sustainable Development: A Long Term Panel Project in Thailand and Vietnam".
