Sanierung der Chemie
The Faculty of Chemistry moved into the current building complex located on Göttingen University’s Northern Campus in the beginning of the 1970s. Large parts of the building structure have meanwhile become defective, and the technical installations do not meet today’s requirements, especially regarding aspects of energy and modern laboratory equipment. Hence, there is an urgent need for reconstruction in order to ensure that the faculty can continue its research and teaching activities on the high level of excellence for which it is renowned. These web pages are dedicated to providing you up-to-date information on the planning process and ongoing reconstruction work.
We are planning to conduct a ‘hot reconstruction’ without disrupting normal operations. This will pose extraordinary logistical and organisational challenges for the faculty members, students and executing companies.
We will use all means available to us to make sure that research and teaching activities are disrupted as little as possible. We would like to apologise for any inconveniences that may be caused. If you would like to give us your feedback on the reconstruction work, please use our suggestion box. The reconstruction of the faculty buildings will be done in several phases. Detailed information can be found on these web pages. We will inform you of ongoing measures and share technical and organisational information with you on our ‘News’ web page.
