Academic writing is an essential part of research-oriented studies and a fundamental aspect of the Teaching and Learning Guidelines of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. It plays a crucial role in bachelor's and master's studies as well as in PhD research. Therefore, all students are introduced to the techniques of academic writing early on, in a structured and sustainable manner. In the bachelor's program, this happens in two steps: an introduction takes place in the first semester as part of the course "Enterprises and Markets," where students must write their first academic paper in the form of a final report. U+M: Guidelines for Academic Writing The second step includes specialized courses on “Techniques of Academic Writing” offered by various professorships. These are either integrated into the bachelor seminar or conducted as standalone workshops or exercises in both bachelor's and master's programs. The following sections provide detailed information about these courses (content, schedule, target audience, registration procedures, etc.). These courses reflect the diversity of the business administration discipline. Each subject has its specific methods, theories, structure of research papers, and citation styles. Therefore, each professorship provides its own academic writing guide on its homepage to account for this diversity. Data in the dropdown menus below are valid as of: 10.06.2024
