New energy transition project: AGil develops future model for decentralized energy supply in southern Lower Saxony
Prof. Dr. Simon Fink is part of an interdisciplinary project that will explore the possibilities of a decentralized energy transition over the next three years. In his political science subproject, he is investigating which political framework conditions can promote or hinder a decentralized energy transition.

14.11.2025 Faculty graduation ceremony
The faculty invites all graduates who successfully completed their studies between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, to the graduation ceremony in the auditorium on Wilhelmsplatz. Registration via the alumni registration portal is required to attend.

The faculty subsidizes applications for funding for doctoral studies and the post-doctoral phase, as well as applications for funding for internationalization. The Research Commission decides on the applications received.

Dissertation defense and habilitation dates
Approximately 10 students complete their doctorates at the Faculty of Social Sciences each year, and 1-2 people obtain their habilitation. The dates of public university disputations and lectures can be found here.
