Scientific Keynote
The scientific keynote titled "Nanoscopy with focused light" will be given by Prof. Stefan Hell who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2014 for the development of super-resolved fluorescence microscopy. His research is dedicated to optical microscopy beyond the diffraction barrier with far-field optics and the invention of STED, RESOLFT, GSDIM and 4Pi microscopy and related techniques.
Stefan Hell is a director at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen and head of the Department of NanoBiophotonics. He is also a faculty member of the International Max Planck Research Schools and MSc/PhD programs for Molecular Biology and Neurosciences at the University of Göttingen.
The research lecture will be held in the University Aula am Wilhelmsplatz on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 15:00 to 16:00 h.
All current and former students and faculty members, colleagues and friends of the Molecular Biology/Neuroscience programs are cordially invited.
