During the second phase (2016-2020), Clara Zemp was postdoctoral researcher in the Biodiversity Enrichment Experiment (EFForTS-BEE / CRC990-B11 project). She first studied the effect of tree diversity on productivity at various spatial scales (Zemp et al. 2019, Journal of Applied Ecology) and on structural complexity using terrestrial laser scanning (Zemp et al. 2019, Agriculture, Ecosystem, Environment). As scientific coordinator of the experiment, she coordinated the multi-disciplinary research activities in the field. She integrated the datasets to summarize the overall effect of the experimental treatment on multi-trophic biodiversity (from microbes to birds) and ecosystem multifunctionality (with multiple ecosystem functions such as water infiltration, oil palm yield and carbon storage) in a synthesis approach (Zemp et al. in prep).

In the third phase (2021-2023), Clara is involved as associated scientist and supervise a PhD student (Vannesa Montoya-Sánchez) on the topic of scaling-up biodiversity and structural complexity from plot to landscape.

Since February 2021, Clara Zemp is leading the Conservation Biology Lab as assistant professor at the university of Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
