Prof. Dr. Angela Rizzi
My research activities focus into solid state physics, in particular on the electronic properties of semiconductor hetero- and nanostructures. The experimental work includes the growth by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), the preparation of nanostructures by modern technologies (lithography, dry etching, etc.) and the analysis by several techniques. In our group, we are presently working on two main fields (i) spintronics and (ii) semiconductor nanowires. In particular running projects are on (a) diluted magnetic semiconductors based on GaN (b) growth of InN nanowires for applications in solar cells (c) two-dimensional electron gases based on AlGaN/GaN heterostructures.
