Basic Doctoral Programme of the Faculty
After obtaining a M.Sc. in a biological field or psychology you can get a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Biology and Psychology within the basic programme. You will work full-time on your thesis project in the working group of your choice, which you have found by yourself beforehand. Funding is generally not included. In yearly meetings with your Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) you will get guidance to your project. To have publications within this time is ideal for your scientific career, but not mandatory according to the Rer-Nat-Regulations. After three to four years you submit and defend your thesis to obtain a PhD/Dr.rer.nat. You will be enrolled as student of the University of Göttingen during the whole period of your PhD studies.
