M.Sc. Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology
The Master's degree in "Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology" offers comprehensive training and qualifies you for a variety of different professional fields in forestry and timber management as well as in the environmental and nature conservation sector. The master’s degree serves to provide scientific in-depth knowledge in one of three main areas of study offered: forest management and forest use, forest conservation or wood biology and wood technology. In addition to compulsory modules, the course can be supplemented by a large range of electives, internships and stays abroad.
STUDY STRUCTURE
You choose between the following three majors: forest management and forest use, forest nature conservation and wood biology and wood technology. In addition to core-specific compulsory modules, you can customize your studies with a wide range of elective modules. You can choose, among other things, compulsory modules from other areas of specialization, specific elective modules in forestry, internships, foreign languages and key skills as well as courses from other related Master’s degree programs (e.g. agricultural sciences, biodiversity). The standard study period is four semesters. The master's examination consists of subject examinations that accompany the course, a project work and a master's thesis.
