Nutrient uptake and transport in the plant; function of different nutrients in the plant especially with respect to plant health; mechanisms to increase nutrient efficiency and availability; characteristics of plant health, relation between plant nutrition and plant health; effect of nutrient imbalances on plant metabolism and production of plant harvest products and processing quality.
Objectives
Understanding of the relations between plant nutrition and plant health and their significance in the value-added chain. Students will be able to present the presented topics in their context: development of nutritional and processing quality in different crop plants; quality requirements and ways of realization by crop production methods.
Examination
45 minutes written exam, seminar presentation
