Key competence module "Introduction to applied statistics" (6 C, 4 SWS) [M.Bio.358]
Learning outcome: Understanding of basic principles of statistics. Knowledge of elementary techniques from descriptive and concluding statistics.
Core skills: Students should be able to select suitable statistic techniques depending on the biological problem and available data. They should be able to apply simple statistic methods and to deal with the programming language R.

1. Lecture: "Basic concepts in statistics" (2 SWS)
2. Tutorial: "Applied statistics" (2 SWS)
Prerequisite for examination: short exams prior to the next lecture
Examination: oral examination (15 min)
