Analysis of trade-offs and synergies between economic and ecological functions of rainforest transformation systems
As part of the subproject B10, I work on the existing EFForTS-ABM, which consists of an ecological and an economic submodel.
The goal of my work is to identify policy scenarios and landscape characteristics to increase ecosystem services and biodiversity while having minimal impact on the economic benefits. In order to do this I refine the ecological submodel and scale the model to larger regions. In addition, I conduct a comprehensive analysis of trade-offs and synergies between economic indicators and biodiversity of different taxa at the landscape scale.
