Funding Programs at the DAAD
Besides drawing on internal means of funding curriculum internationalization initiatives, academic staff might also turn to DAAD programs.
This page introduces some of the programs which facilitate academic and intercultural exchange between students and teaching staff in Germany and international partners.

Förderung ausländischer Gastdozenten zu Lehrtätigkeiten an deutschen Hochschulen, DAAD
This program allows for the invitation of guest lecturers from all over the world and from all disciplinary backgrounds (post, travel, workshops are covered). The funding duration is between 3 and 12 months. Please see this website for further information.
Programm Projektbezogener Personenaustausch (mit verschiedenen Ländern), DAAD
This program is open for all disciplines and supports mobility for short-terms stays (up to 50 days). Academic staff can invite fellow researchers for joint research projects. The international partner needs to submit a funding application in their home country; German academic apply for funding at the DAAD. Click here for more information.
Summer Schools in Germany, DAAD
This program targets German higher education institutions who are planing on hosting high profile summer schools for international students (incl. Ph.D. students) in Germany. It aims at supporting academic exchange on current issues in research as well as intercultural exchange. The funding covers the travel and accommodation expenses of the participating international students as well as expenses for the organization and implementation of the summer school. Study Trips for international students in Germany, DAAD
This program supports encounters between German students and students as well as teaching staff from abroad for the purpose of establishing or intensifying international contacts. Stays up to 12 days may be funded. Please see this website for more information.
Studienpraktika für Gruppen ausländischer Studierender in Deutschland, DAAD
This program focuses on subject-specific internships in higher education, e.g. intensive courses, workshops, research or lab courses, which aim at facilitating encounters between German and international students and academics. Please click here for more information
