French (M.Ed.)
Course description
In conjunction with the intensification of language skills and specialised skills gained during the Bachelor's degree programme, students taking French within the Master’s of Education will primarily acquire the teaching skills and experience necessary for planning, structuring and giving secondary school courses in French.
The specialised academic part is divided accordingly into the sub-areas of language practice, linguistics/literature/regional studies and specialised didactics.
- In the practical language module M.Rom.Frz.601 (6 c), students intensify their language skills in listening and understanding, oral expression, text comprehension and writing to the level C1-C2 of the Common European Framework (CEF).
- The specialised module M.Frz.L.302 (8 C) expands competencies in the two of the sub-areas of linguistics, literature or regional studies.
- Special emphasis is placed on the didactic component of the course (15 c): It is here that students complete a course in subject-specific lesson planning, as well as a specialised internship at a school or a research fellowship including the accompanying courses and lectures (M.Frz.L.303 and/or M.Frz.L.304). Yet another didactics module (M.Frz.L.305) addresses hypotheses, methods and findings of specialised didactic research.

Language requirements during studies
