Evolution of Landplants and Development of Terrestrial Ecosystems

Janne began working in our research group as student assistant in 2022. With a passion for laboratory work and microscopy, Janne became proficient with DNA extraction, PCR, and cultivation of fungi. She substantially contributes to different mycological projects and screens newly discovered amber specimens for inclusions. Janne completed her Bachelor's degree in Geosciences with a thesis focused on DNA metabarcoding of acidophilic fungi of Rio Tinto in southern Spain, utilizing Next Generation Sequencing techniques. She is now working on her Master's degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
