Dr. Jin-Heon Jung

Jin-Heon Jung is a cultural anthropologist who has worked at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, where he coordinated the Seoul Lab project, and is an adjunct professor in the Institute of Korean Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. His research interests include refugee-migration and religion, peace studies, and urban aspirations in comparative perspectives between Korea and Germany. He is currently writing up a book on the theme of trans-border sensibilities among Korean-German migrants, co-editing a special issue on Refugees and Religion, and developing comparative research on social distancing between Europe and Asia amid the pandemic crisis. His publications include “Migration and Religion in East Asia” and “Building Noah’s Ark for Migrants, Refugees, and Religious Communities.”
