Dr. Anna Papaeti

Dr. Anna Papaeti, Marie Curie Intra-European Fellow 

Anna Papaeti did undergraduate and postgraduate studies in music and musicology at King’s College London, where she completed her doctoral thesis in 2007.
Her thesis critically explores female representation and sacrificial love in Richard Wagner’s music dramas, using the psychoanalytic theories of Jacques Lacan. From 2004 to 2006 she worked at Publications at the Royal Opera House, London.
In 2006 she joined the team of the late Stefanos Lazaridis, then artistic director of the Greek National Opera, as Associate Dramaturg (2006–2009).
In 2010 she received a DAAD post-doctoral fellowship to conduct research on the postwar antifascist works of Hanns Eisler at the Universität der Künste, Berlin.
She is currently a Marie Curie Inter-European Fellow at the University of Göttingen, working on the musical culture of the Greek military Junta (1967–1974). Her research is funded under the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme following a competitive procedure.
