Learning goals:
Students will develop a knowledge and an understanding of the systems and practices of risk management in the insurance industry.
Risk Management is currently a main topic in the insurance industry and is seen as a critical success factor for the future. Following "Basel II" for banks, "Solvency II" is set to change the requirements for Risk Management in the insurance industry dramatically and is a main factor in the evolution of risk management systems in companies. An draft of the EU guideline has been available since September 2007.
