Contents
The Master’s programme Molecular Life Sciences: Microbiology, Biotechnology and Biochemistry (M.Sc.) is held in the English language and comprises the subject areas:
- General and Applied Microbiology
- Molecular Genetics and Microbial Cell Biology
- Cell and Molecular Biology of Plant-Microbe-Interactions
- Structural Biochemistry
- Biochemistry and Biophysics
- Enzyme Catalysis and Biological Chemistry
The lectures with introductory methods courses and consecutive individual research projects convey special knowledge of microbiology as well as on current issues in molecular biology and biochemistry. State-of-the-art-techniques and a variety of bacterial, fungal and plant model organisms are used to answer current questions. The programme is conducted in an active research environment with high international standing.
Language requirements
Excellent knowledge of English (certified); knowledge of German language is required.
Structure
The research-oriented Master’s programme typically follows a Bachelor’s programme in Biology or Biosciences. Fundamental knowledge of the subject and its methods are first conveyed in core and later in advanced modules. Key competence modules additionally convey further occupational qualifying competencies.
