Alumni Day 2024

Old memories of their student days came flooding back at Göttingen University's Alumni Day on 16 November 2024. Former students of the Faculty of Business and Economics learned about current developments at the faculty from the Alumni Representative, Prof. Dr. Michael Wolff, and then had the opportunity to share their experiences over coffee and cake in the Oeconomicum.

In the afternoon, former doctoral candidates from all faculties of the University of Göttingen were honored with a ceremony in the auditorium ("Aula") on Wilhelmsplatz. The doctoral candidates received their PhD degrees at the University 50 years ago, i.e. in 1974. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bloech, a former professor of the Faculty of Business and Economics, gave the ceremonial address. He has supervised over 100 doctoral candidates. This year, he was able to personally present three of them with their golden doctoral certificates, including Prof. Dr. Stefan Tangermann, who spoke at the event about his time in Göttingen.
