I am working for the project "RNA-basierte Pflanzenschutztechnologien zur nachhaltigen Kontrolle des Rapserdflohs im Rapsanbau- RiboREF". The goal of this project is to use dsRNA instead of chemical insecticides to control the cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala), one of the most important pests of oilseed rape (Brassica napus) in Northern Europe. I will screen target genes and identify the most effective ones, and testing different formulations for field application, meanwhile, avoiding off-target effects on non-target insects.
