AI for studying
Using AI can reduce workload during your studies and can turn them more effective and catered to you. From personalised learning support to virtual tutors and simulations - AI offers many possibilities to optimise your learning and cater to your individual needs. Now, we will present some ideas on how AI can support you in your studies:
- AI can analyse your study progress and give personalised recommendations for study materials, exercises and exam preparations.
- AI can analyse study patterns and help develop even more effective study strategies.
- AI can help you organise your studies by creating time schedules, prioritising tasks and reminding you of important deadlines and appointments.
Textgenerative AIs can support students in many text-based tasks and can serve as a proofreader. AIs can:
- Help form your sentences (e.g. to help overcome writer's blocks)
- Give suggestions for structure (to help overcome writer's block)
- Generate Summaries
- Explain in easy language
- Imporve your writing (Grammar, style, ...)
- Give feedback to your ideas and writing
- Translate texts
- Research & Find academic work
Aside from text-based tasks, AI can support you in additional ways. Possible uses are:
- Give (easy) explanations for complex topics
- Individual coaching by asking and multiple explanatory approaches (e.g. visual explanations, case examples, ...)
- Self-quizzes to track your study progress
- Foundations for discussions and change of perspective by typing in different prompts
- Studying in the sense of connectivism: Research, sharpen search terms, connect, check, compile anew
Textgenerative AIs were trained to understand and generate various natural speaking patterns, which enables them to hold coherent conversations. This makes them a good conversation partner, that is available around the clock and at any time and doesn't mind any mistakes. Here are some ideas for the use of AI as a conversation partner:
- Debate: Ask ChatGPT to take on the role of your debating opponent and train your debating skills.
- Tandem partner: Talk to ChatGPT in a foreign language about different topics, such as culture, travel or recent events. Not only does this help practising your language skills, it also educates you in various topics.
- Roleplay (in a foreign language): Act out everyday situations, like ordering food in a restaurant or asking directions. Let ChatGPT be your conversation partner.
- Practise pronounciation: Form sentences and ask ChatGPT to read them aloud. Compare ChatGPT's pronounciation to your own and try to improve it.
