Education

I started my academic studies at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen with a B.Sc. in Forestry and deepened my skills with the following M.Sc. at the same University. During my studies, I became particularly interested in the conflict over the use of forest resources. My master thesis “Evaluation of different clearing management methods for the realization of wind energy units in forest ecosystems” gave me the opportunity to gain insights into modelling approaches, especially the robust multicriteria optimization approach. I would like to further deepen my skills in bio-economic modelling. Therefore, I applied for the RTG2300, subproject 11.

PhD Research Project

Central European forests have a long history of use and are a good example of the different demands of maintaining economic viability while facing the climate change, the integration of increased natural conservation and various social demands. As doctoral candidate in the RTG 2300, subproject 11, I am part of the Forest Economics and Sustainable Land-use Planning department and am supervised by Prof. Dr. Carola Paul. The main objective of my project is to analyze economic effects of species mixture and structural diversity of mixed stands of European beech with conifers compared to the pure stands of these species.
