Forestry operations and research internship (M.Sc.)

Learning objectives and competencies

As part of an internship of (at least) four weeks, students should gain an insight into the management and leadership of a corresponding organization in Germany or abroad under the scientific supervision of a lecturer involved in the focus area “Forest Management and Forest Utilization” in cooperation with a forestry company, a forest administration, a forest research institution (outside the University of Göttingen) or other forestry organization (association, etc.) and gain experience in working on/solving a practical problem relevant to the area of “Forest Management and Forest Utilization”. This should give students an insight into the practical professional field of a forestry manager and establish contacts for their future career. The choice of institution, which may be made on the initiative of the student and/or the supervising lecturer, requires the approval of the coordinator of the specialization in Forest Management and Forest Utilization.

At the beginning of the internship, the supervising lecturer will specify the topic to be worked on as part of a term paper.
