Leon-Fabian Caspari, M.A.
Project Coordinator ENLIGHT / Research Assistant
Leon-Fabian Caspari has worked as a research assistant to Prof Elfriede Hermann from July 2021 to April 2024 and has supported the social research and teaching on climate change at the institute.
Leon studied social and cultural anthropology and human geography in Göttingen, Hong Kong and Singapore. Leon worked as a project coordinator for ENLIGHT and developed various Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) in interdisciplinary teams with researchers from other ENLIGHT universities, focussing on the socio-cultural impacts and responses to the climate crisis. The focus was on the interactions between climate mitigation, adaptation and climate justice.
Leon has been working as a climate adaptation manager in the Department for Sustainable Urban Development of the City of Göttingen since summer 2024.

Anthropology of Climate Change (climate adaptation; sustainable urban development; climate justice); anthropology of Policy and Expertise; (climate adaptation policies, urban governance, critical policy research); urban anthropology (social infrastructures, urban heat, practices of care).
