Dr. Erin Tranfield studied biology at the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada. She did her PhD in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. Dr. Tranfied has led international teams and taught students in intercultural, and interdisciplinary settings since 2007. She has been the head of an electron microscopy service facility in Portugal since 2013 and a consultant with hfp- consulting since 2021. She has 20+ years of research experience in room temperature electron microscopy sample preparation and imaging including 10+ years of experience in electron tomography, cryo-immobilization and correlative light and electron microscopy.
