Our former colleague Jun.-Prof. Dr. Annette Witherspoon was awarded the PhD prize for her excellent PhD thesis "Social Sustainability, Power and Agriculture Value Chains: An intersectional analysis of the everyday notions, politics and dynamics of interaction of smallholders in the vanilla value chain of NE Madagascar." by the University of Göttingen's Faculty of Social Sciences. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Andrea D. Bührmann from the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute and Prof. Dr. Ulrike Schultz from Friedensau Adventist University.
