Feasibility Study for a Monitoring of Civic Education in Germany

Project Information:

The feasibility study for a civic education monitor is dedicated to the professional and statistical conditions under which a recurring report on civic education in Germany can be established. Such a monitor should provide data-based and criteria-driven information on the situation of civic education in Germany in different sectors and also provide for the analysis of developments over time in order to enable, among other things, educational policy and educational practice to make evidence-based decisions for effective improvements. The project is carried out in cooperation with colleagues at the University of Bielefeld, the University of Duisburg-Essen, and the University of Cologne (as well as, in the first year of the project, at the Goethe University in Frankfurt), with a particular focus on the extracurricular civic education sector at the Göttingen site.
