The current global pandemic has demonstrated the crucial role played by scientific research in political and societal decisions. At the same time, it has highlighted the multifaceted nature of scientists, both men and women, and thrown a spotlight on the personal and professional challenges faced by these dedicated professionals. How are scientists (especially female scientists) perceived within and outside the scientific community? Is it necessary to achieve gender balance in the STEM community? Are the challenges faced by scientists pandemic-specific? Or, have they always existed and never been addressed/acknowledged?
The Panel Discussion at WoCaNet 2021, moderated by Dr. Katrin Wodzicki, will address these questions and many more. Join us to hear the insights and experiences shared by Prof. Dr. Gijsbert Stoet, Prof. Dr. Alessandra Minello, Dr. Catharine Young, and Prof. Dr. Ulrike Beisiegel.
We look forward to a stimulating discussion between the panellists and the participants. You are welcome to share your thoughts and ideas, while respecting the confidentiality of the personal experiences being shared.
