The time has come! After years of planning and 1.5 years of active development time, we have finally moved into active use with the new qualification portal https://prod.qualifizierung.uni-goettingen.de/index.xhtml. We would like to thank everyone for their support and cooperation and look forward to exploiting and further developing the potential that this portal offers.

Why is there a new qualification portal?
With the new qualification portal https://prod.qualifizierung.uni-goettingen.de/index.xhtml, we offer a modern and simple way to find out about the courses on offer and to register and deregister for courses independently. The system also enables us to provide you, the participant, with all the necessary information at the right time.What new functions does the new qualification portal have?
- Independent login and logout with one click
- Overview of registered courses
- Overview of completed events
- Download certificate of attendance
- Register services, e.g. childcare, interpreters, etc. early in the registration process.
Obtaining a signature from your manager is no longer necessary for registration. Approval is done by you in advance with your manager and you only have to put your manager in Cc during the registration process.
NOTE: The offer to participate in courses is reserved for employees of the University of Göttingen. Employees of the Göttingen Campus (incl. UMG) can participate if there is free capacity (see in the FAQ "Göttingen Campus). An exception is the offer of the Security Office. This is available to both university and UMG employees.
First-time use / Registration
Why do I have to register once? In order to successfully register for an offer from the range of courses, it is first necessary to create a user profile.
By registering, we ensure that only persons who are entitled to participate can take part in our courses. The employees of the University, the so-called affiliated institutes and the employees of the Göttingen Campus, to whom the Lower Saxony Staff Representation Act applies, are entitled to participate. Insofar as course capacities permit, employees of the University Medical Center (UMG) are also able to take advantage of the staff development offers.
By registering via Single Sign-on (SSO) and the associated authentication in the local services of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, the software can be used without having to re-register each time. This also ensures that the user's data is processed securely and in a personalised manner.
Log in with your user data, which you enter to log in to your work computer, laptop.
To do this, go to the "Human" icon at the top right, then "My account". On the left of the menu overview, go to "Getting Started", read the privacy notice and confirm that you have read the privacy policy. You will not be able to register for courses without your consent. You do not need to apply for a role. You automatically have the role of user in the system and can then register for your course.
Alternatively, you can select the link "User account" in the course view under "Registration" on the right-hand side of the page, which will take you directly to the registration process.
In (justified) exceptional cases, users can be created by Human Resources Development. To do so, please contact Human Resources Development via the following e-mail address: personalentwicklung@uni-goettingen.de.
Course registration / deregistration
How do I register?In the course view, the registration button is located on the right-hand side of the page under the event location and contact information. As long as the "Registration" button is green, there are still places available in the desired course. If the red button "Fully booked" appears, there are no more places available in the desired event. If you are already registered for an event, the "Deregister" button appears in yellow.
This button can be used to simply deregister from the event if required. There are courses that are listed under conditional registration (e.g. for colleagues of the UMG), here a so-called "waiting list" is kept. Those registered in this way will receive information on possible participation by e-mail in good time before the course date.
It's a pity that the date for the course you have chosen doesn't suit you (any more).
No problem, in the navigation bar under "My account" you will find the tab "My courses". Here you can manage your past and planned course visits. To unsubscribe, simply click on the red button "Unsubscribe". You will then receive an e-mail confirming your cancellation. If your plans change and there is still a place available, you can easily re-register using the familiar registration process.
Filter and search settings can be made via the tab at the top of the page, the search bars at the top of the page and the navigation bars on the left-hand side of the page.
Via the tab "Topics", the course programme is divided into the different categories by tiles.
The search function can be used to search for courses or terms. The filter settings "For staff" and "For managers" in the tab lead directly to the courses that are particularly suitable or reserved for these target groups.
The next upcoming course is displayed in the individual tiles, which leads directly to the course information and registration. An overview of all other courses in the respective category is provided by clicking on "... more courses".
The navigation bar in the left part of the page also provides an overview of courses from specific categories and/or for specific target groups.
If there are free capacities, you will see the button "Register". If the course is full, the button "Register under reserve" appears. You can then register for the waiting list. You will receive information in good time before the course date if a place has become free.
The current service agreement regulates the qualification measures for employees of the University of Göttingen (excluding the University Medical Centre). This also includes the participation of the respective manager when registering for our courses.
Therefore, please select the participation information that applies to you in the registration process and tick the box provided. Then enter the correct e-mail address of your manager. If you are attending the course outside of working hours or do not require the consent of a manager, you do not need to enter a manager's e-mail address.
After a successful registration, a small notice will appear at the top of the page. In addition, a confirmation of receipt will be sent by e-mail to your Outlook account shortly after registration. If the email address of a manager has been entered, this will be set to Cc. in the email.
In addition, a list of all current registrations can be displayed in the tab under the icon and "My account" in the left-hand area of the page "My courses".
A mouse click on a course leads to the course view.
In the lowest part of the page "Dates" you will find an overview of dates with times and venues. All dates listed there belong to the course. Registration therefore requires participation in all of these dates.
In the right part of the page "Details", "Duration" summarises how many days are needed to participate in the course.

If a course consists of several dates, all dates with their different venues are listed in the date overview in the lowest part of the page. You will receive the access data for video conferences by e-mail shortly before the course date.
The link to the online video conference is sent by email a few days before the actual date of the course. In the invitation email you will find the most important information about the event and the reference where you can manage your course participation (e.g. cancel).

After completion of a course, i.e. after HR Development confirms your participation in the system, a certificate is automatically stored in the system under "My account" - "My courses". You can retrieve this permanently, save it as a PDF and print it out if required. The certificate of attendance is not automatically forwarded to the personnel file.
You can retrieve the certificates for the duration of your employment at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen under "My courses". If your employment ends, the data will be stored on the servers of the GWDG for the duration of the legal requirements and can be requested if necessary. I work at UMG, how can I register for a course?As an employee of UMG, you can register in the system via Single Sign-on (SSO) and the associated authentication and then register for a course. As an employee at the Göttingen Campus, you can log in or register via Single Sign-on (SSO)

The offers of the Human Resources Development are reserved for employees of the University of Göttingen. In individual cases (cooperation partners, U4 network, etc.), participation is possible after prior consultation with HR Development. The system is open to guests. Please make sure to contact us in advance. In order to register, you will need an account (Academic ID) with the GWDG. You can then apply for the role of "user" in the system at personalentwicklung@uni-goettingen.de, which will be assigned to you by the administrators of Human Resources Development.

After you have registered for a course, you will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail. In this email you will find a link to our enquiry form request form, which you can use to enquire about childcare, a sign or written interpreter, accessible course materials or other support options. Please note that these offers may require a longer lead time for organisation.
Data protection
Why is consent to the data processing agreement necessary?Our data processing agreement contains detailed information on how and why participants' data is collected, processed and secured. Once again, here is the link to our data protection notice.
Consent to this is required once in order to use the system. Consent is given via the menu "My Account" and "First Steps" on the left-hand side of the page.
Here, the data processing agreement can be viewed via the link marked in blue and then accepted by clicking on the checkbox "I have read and accept the data protection guidelines".
The green button "Confirm" sends the consent. It is also possible to view the privacy policy to be accepted, to retrieve it as a PDF and to save it. Should there be any changes in the data processing agreement, renewed consent will be required for further use of the system.

In our courses, sensitive personal and health-related data and information may come up under certain circumstances. With this confidentiality agreement, you undertake to treat this personal and health-related data and information confidentially. The request will only appear for certain courses. Please note that for courses where consent is required in the registration process, this is also a prerequisite for participation.
Only the personal data required to provide our content and services will be processed. Wherever and whenever possible, data will be anonymised. The type of data collected and the purpose of processing can be found in our data protection notice.
The data stored in this system is saved on the protected servers of the University Computer Centre of the University of Göttingen (GWDG).
Among other things, we need your data to process the event, to create attendance lists and certificates of attendance. You can find more information about the storage of your data here.
Yes. Human Resources Development is the administrator of the system and has insight into the data.
The personal data will be stored on internal servers of the GWDG for the duration of the employment relationship and deleted as necessary in accordance with legal regulations. Wherever and whenever possible, the data is anonymised.
On the one hand, there is the option of retrieving and saving the current version of the data protection policy as a PDF to be confirmed when logging into the software for the first time. On the other hand, you can find the data protection notice on our homepage in the "Qualification" tab on the right-hand side further down. If there is a new version of the data protection notice, the system will inform you so that you can confirm it again.
