I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in “Biology” in 2014 and a master’s degree in “Ecology” in 2020 from the University of Bremen. After studying insect diversity in technical ponds in collaboration with hanseWasser GmbH in Bremen (financially supported by the Kellner-Stoll-Stiftung), I am now `migrating` to soil and want to explore organisms in temperate forests.
PhD Research Project
I joined the working group of Prof. Dr. Stefan Scheu as a PhD student in 2021. I want to understand decomposer communities and decomposition processes in temperate forests. In addition to the Collembola und Oribatida mites that have already been studied by Jingzhoung Lu, I will focus on Gamasid mites. Next to continuing an ongoing litter bag experiment, I will tackle the question of the importance of root-derived resources in soiI food webs by looking into soil food webs and decomposer communities in a root trenching experiment.
