Lotta König wins award for excellent thesis

We are proud and happy to announce that Lotta König's thesis ("Reflecting on gender norms with literature. A cultural studies-informed conception for teaching foreign languages") has won an award as one of the two best thesis in the context of gender studies. Congratulations!



Lotta König's thesis is innovative in its implications for foreign language didactics, gender theory as well as educational policy. While the necessity to reduce discrimination has been widely recognized and an increase in diversity regarding gender and sexuality has been called for, until now there has been no extensive theoretically informed conception which texts and methods this could be implemented with. Lotta König has now provided such a work for the field of foreign language teaching.
