International

"The most dangerous world view is the world view of those who have never looked at the world."

Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859)

The Faculty of Humanities of the Georg-August-University Göttingen has a long tradition of internationalisation. As one of the four grounding faculties, the Faculty of Humanities has traditionally been internationally anchored in teaching and research since the 18th century.

The faculty's international study and academic culture is markedly influenced by more than 500 international students, as well as a large number of doctoral students and visiting scholars from different countries.

The wide range of courses and degrees offered with different regional, linguistic and cultural emphases, the international networking of subjects via research and teaching alliances in Europe, Asia and America, as well as the foreign liaison offices representing the University in China and India, also contribute to the international and cosmopolitan atmosphere of our faculty.
