Five researchers at the University of Göttingen are among the most frequently cited scientists
The University of Göttingen features in this year's list of "Highly Cited Researchers" once again, with the inclusion of five of its scientists. Chemist Professor Lutz Ackermann, agroecologist Professor Teja Tscharntke, agricultural scientist Professor Tobias Plieninger, biochemist Professor Ivo Feußner and biodiversity researcher Professor Holger Kreft are among the most frequently cited scientists in their fields worldwide.
The ranking by Clarivate Analytics calculates how many publications by a scientist were cited particularly frequently in other papers. This is an important indication of the scientific influence of a publication. All publications from 2009 to 2019 were evaluated, with those ranked most highly representing the top one percent of the most frequently cited publications.
The list of "Highly Cited Researchers 2020" includes almost 6,400 scientists from 21 research fields. It can be found here: https://recognition.webofsciencegroup.com/awards/highly-cited/2020/.
