The main research interest in my group is the non-equilibrium dynamics of quantum many-particle systems. While classical non-equilibrium systems have been investigated for many decades (famous examples are Rayleigh-Benard convection or Taylor-Couette flow), the exploration of non-equilibrium phenomena in quantum systems has just begun. We study questions that are directly motivated by experiments like time-resolved ARPES or non-linear transport in nanostructures, but also fundamental questions addressing the foundations of quantum statistical mechanics like thermalization in closed quantum systems or dynamical phase transitions.
I am always looking for talented people to join the team.
