The Article 5 database is an internal resource with the aim of cataloguing instances of the use of music and references to music and musical practice in the context of torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. The database catalogues scholarly literature on this project as well as reports of incidents and any other material useful for researchers working on this project. Since the aim is to establish as complete a picture of this issue as possible, there are no chronological or geographical limits.
