Browser settings for using the self-service function for students

Problems may occur when using the self-service functions of the new student ID card. The currently used browsers Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox contain a so-called pop-up blocker, which restricts the functionality of the self-service function. With the following instructions you can configure the browsers so that the self-service function is available without restrictions.

Mozilla Firefox

Select Tools/Extras -> Settings from the menu bar to get to the following screen. There click on "Content" at the top and there click on "Exceptions..." next to "Block pop-up windows":


Enter the address of the page where pop-ups should be allowed, in this case "uni-goettingen.de" and click on "Allow":




Internet Explorer

In Internet Explorer, the following window appears when you call the self-service functions for the smart card. Click on the bar that appears below the address bar "Pop-up blocked. [...]" and select "Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site". The self-service function can now be used in full.
