Core module "Cell biology" (12 C, 14 SWS) [M.Bio.303]
Learning outcome: Profound insights into the molecular organisation of cells, cell proliferation, differentiation and cell death as well as the mechanisms of cell communication. Understanding of techniques for the identification, analysis and manipulation of gene functions (e.g. genetic, transgenic und reverse genetic). Knowledge of relevant databases for the in silico sequence analyses.
Core skills: Planning and execution of molecular biological experiments on cultured cells. Practice of techniques for the establishment and culturing of cell lines. Critical analysis of results, scientific presentation and discussion of data. Use of data bases for molecular biological and cell biological research. Literature research und critical analysis of this literature.
Requirements for examination: Theoretical knowledge with respect to the topics of „Learning outcome“ and "Core skills": scientific presentation of gathered data in an oral presentation and in form of a publication.
