SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am interested in the process of development of the nervous system and how neuronal circuits come together to give rise to extremely sophisticated cognitive processes. I would also like to study the molecular and neurochemical mechanisms underlying cellular death in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
