Curriculum Vitae
Educational background:
Research areas:
Palaeoceanographic reconstruction: investigate the dynamics of ocean environmental changes, ocean currents circulation, past sea-level oscillation, and productivity of seawater by using sediment archives from marine deposits.Palaeoenvironmental changes: reconstruct past vegetation, climate, past environmental changes, fire regime by using sediment archives from lakes, swamps, wetlands, coastal regions, etc.
Human impacts: detect human-introduced eutrophication to the ocean, human-introduced fire, the impact of human activities such as settlements, agriculture, cattle grazing, and landform transformation from the natural ecosystem.
Research methods: palynological analysis (pollen, spores, algae, photolysis, dinoflagellate cysts, diatom), geochemistry, granulometry, loss on ignition, and macro-charcoal analysis, etc.
Research area: South Atlantic, South America, southeast Caspian Sea, northern Iran, southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, southeast and northeast Asia.
Interested topics: land-ocean interactions, vegetation dynamics, and biodiversity changes, long-term climate changes, the impact of human activities, sea-level changes, coastal dynamics, environmental management, explorations of driving mechanisms controlling the global/regional climate.
