Please find a summary of the planned symposium here:As part of the third and final year of the research project Materiality and Knowledge. The Aesthetics of the Music Archive as an Institution, this one-day symposium brings together researchers in the field to discuss the varied aspects and future directions of both, the Felix Van Lamsweerde collection and sound archives of postcolonial contexts broadly. International scholars will be invited to speak on themes such as colonial and postcolonial sound archives of South-Asia, European music collectors and collections, musical knowledge and textuality as well as current developments/challenges concerning archival research such as digitization, historicity, copyright, repartition, decolonization among others.
