SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS
I am interested in all approaches to studying the brain – be it cognitive science, philosophy, neurobiology or computational neuroscience. I am especially interested in the circuitry involving the limbic system and the prefrontal cortex and hope to gain a detailed understanding of the physical connections, the types of neurons involved, and the patterns of neuronal firing within those areas. I would also like to use computational modelling as a tool to understand how networks of neurons generate behavior.
