Leaf area index in oil palm plantations under different management practices and in re-growing tree islands in Sumatra, Indonesia

Background / hypotheses:
The measurement of the LAI in the experimental area will lead to a better understanding of the ecological functions inside a restored oil-palm landscape.

• H1: The LAI will vary depending of the island size and the number of native tree species in the plot.
• H2: LAI is higher in islands containing less number of palm trees.
