Biophysical Chemistry - Mechanics of Living Matter
The passive and active mechanics of biological systems attract great interest as they reveal how the structure and function of biological molecules are related. Prominent examples of this are muscle contraction, cell migration, and wound healing. We are interested in the physical chemistry of biological systems ranging from single molecules over membrane systems to living cells.
