Anna-Maria Dittrich

Junior group leader pediatrics Hannover Medical School

Anna-Maria Dittrich is leading the junior research group „allergic sensitization“ within the collaborative research center „SFB587-immune reachtions of the lung in infectious and allergic diseases“ at Hannover Medical University“, is clinical pediatrican, mother of two children (7 and 3 years old) and wife to a physician-scientist in nephrology.

Anna-Maria Dittrich studied medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and SUNY, Stony Brook, NY, USA. She obtained her doctorate’s degree from the Humboldt University in Berlin for studies performed with the group of Prof. Dr. R. Kroczek, Robert-Koch-Institute, Berlin. Anna-Maria Dittrich received her medical specialization and further scientific training from the departments for Pediatric Pneumology and Immunology, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, Yale University School of Medicine, Dept. for Immunobiology, New Haven, CT, USA and the department for Pediatric Pneumology, Allergology and Neonatology, Hannover Medical University, Hannover, Germany.

Her main research interest is the role of T cells in allergic sensitization which she elucidates in different mouse models of allergic diseases. Anna-Maria Dittrich received an Emmy-Noether-stipend from 06/2005 until 06/2007 for post-doctoral work within the laboratory of Prof. Dr. K. Bottomly, Department for Immunolobiology, Yale University School of Medicine. She is leading the junnior research group within the SFB 587 since 2007.
